Mets Show Fight, Win in Thriller 6-3

The Mets (11-13) beat the Nationals (10-13) this evening at Nationals Park in Washington D.C. extending their win streak to 6 games.  Pedro Beato was credited with the win.

...What a game.  I got the chills from watching the game tonight.  With 1 out in the 8th Jose Reyes hit what seemed to be a triple.  However the 3rd base umpire called that Jose was off the bag after he was originally called safe.  Jose freaked out and nearly got himself thrown out of the game.  Daniel Murphy followed by hitting a home run which tied the game at 2.  The blown call at 3rd really sparked the team.  After giving up an unearned run in the bottom of the 8th the Mets stormed back for 4 runs in the top of the 9th.... • Daniel Murphy had 3 huge RBI's off the bench
• Jason Bay and Ike Davis each had 2 hits
• Justin Turner had an RBI single in the 3rd, his first as a Met
• K-Rod completed the wild game with his 6th save
• R.A. Dickey pitched 6.2 innings of very good baseball.  He allowed 8 hits, a walk, and 2 ER while striking out 3

Tomorrow the Mets will try to make it 7 in a row and complete their second straight sweep when Chris Capuano faces off against former Met Livan Hernandez at 7:05pm at Nationals Park in Washington D.C.
