As most of you know, I live right outside of Philly. The postseason for the past few years has been unbearable to say the least. But I know some local Mets fans that have stuck with the team no matter what. Or so I thought.
Recently, 2 people that were Mets fans decided to go back to their " real hometown team", the Phillies. Let me tell you that I was upset when I first heard this. I really felt that they were just giving up and I felt betrayed as well. The reason - " we just can't watch anymore". What a weak reason!
I have been a die-hard since 1968 and as you all know, there were many, many bad years within these past 42. But I would never give up on the Mets for any reason. I am that fan who watches every inning even after our Mets have been eliminated. If I stopped supporting the Mets just because they were "unwatchable", I would have given up a long time ago.
I told both of these "fans" not to jump back on the bandwagon in a few years when the Mets turn it all around. It will be my pleasure to be a proud Mets fan in those good times. Those traitors are typical Philadelphia fans - great when your team is great, non-existent when your team is bad.
No matter what, I will always bleed orange and blue and that will never change. Go Mets in 2011!

you are the best one---From a little fan loving you forever.
