Notice that yet again Gary Sheffield is not in the lineup. Didn't Jerry Manuel say to the media that Sheff would start the first game of the series? Yes, yes he did and yet again the Mets are wrong with the severity of the players injuries.
Pitching:
Mike Pelfrey (8-7, 4.75 ERA) fresh of the birth of his son Chase Pelfrey starts for the Mets.
Notes: One can only hope the Mets can go on a 2 game winning streak.
