This was wrong.
Do the Mets know how to do
anything the right way?
How could the Mets fly Willie Randolph six hours across the country, win a game against a very good first place Angels team, only to fire him after his post game press conference?
The Mets players went out and played their asses off in game one against the Angels Monday night and the players looked inspired. How can the Mets ownership give Randolph a pink slip when things are finally looking up?
Do the Mets really think naming
Jerry Manuel as their manager
constitutes a shake up? He's part of Willie's braintrust! He is more
of the same! If you don't like Willie, wouldn't it make more sense to
really shake things up and go with someone who wasn't part of his staff?
The Mets should have been looking to clean house in that dugout instead of firing Willie.
Carlos Delgado traded to whoever for whatever would have sent a more sensible message.
It would have sent the 'right' message because Delgado has underachieved for two years now.
Bad signings of old players
who can't stay healthy is why the Mets are just an average team.
This was pure amatuer hour. Shame on the Mets. This wasn't a firing, this was a torturing.
I'm going to miss Willie Randolph, he deserved better.
