Over at the NY Post Bart Hubbuch writes that Jerry Manuel things that Moises Alou's career might be over."It's highly unlikely Alou would retire anytime soon, considering he
still is owed nearly $4 million. But according to Manuel, the
embarrassment of that ridiculously brief return in mid-June - coupled
with the fatigue of rehabbing future injuries - could prompt Alou to
call it a career."
I mean we all knew that Alou would be going on the DL a couple of times this year, but we didn't think he would be on the DL for the third time in mid June. The Mets have got to start looking for a replacement. You obviously can't count on him anymore.
Also 2B Luis Castillo might be going on the DL with sore quadriceps. He's missed three of the last four games.
Finally some good news. Ryan Church will be making to rehab assignment's with the Brooklyn Cyclones and will probably come back in time for the subway series which begins Friday with a double-header.
This is great news. The Mets need him back. Let's hope he doesn't get concussion number three, and he's symptom free when he comes back. If he's not, he better not play.
